Why doesn't DMA apply to Dota 2?
A DMA setup ends with a second machine reading memory over PCIe, but in Dota 2 that machine adds nothing. A MOBA is played from an overhead camera at a fixed angle, with a full view of your own units. There is no aim to assist, and no frame-rate cost that moving the overlay off the machine would save. The benefits a second machine brings in a shooter do not exist here.

The market sells three things, and they differ from the three sold for shooters. The first is fog-of-war awareness, which means seeing units the map should hide. The second is last-hit and deny assistance, which times a click more precisely than a hand can. The third is ability or item automation, which runs a sequence faster than a person can react. All three run on the machine you play on, because none of them needs to be anywhere else.
