Every fuser has two video inputs, one video output and a mains power supply. The game PC goes into the first input, the second PC goes into the second, and the monitor connects to the output. Every model in both families composites the second PC's image over the game image in hardware and sends a single signal onward. Four things differ between models: the output interface, the highest mode the box will carry, the enclosure, and the extras. Extras can include a remote, an on-box control panel, or an EDID passthrough and injection mode.

Both families put two HDMI inputs on almost everything. The interface that varies is the OUTPUT, and the output decides which mode reaches your monitor.
Should you choose HDMI or DisplayPort output?
The output interface sets the bandwidth budget for the last leg of the chain, and that budget sets the ceiling. According to the display standards, HDMI 2.0's 18 Gbit/s carries 1080p at 240 Hz and 1440p at 144 Hz, but with little headroom. DisplayPort 1.4's higher link rate is what carries 1440p at 240 Hz without compression. A fuser does not exceed the standard its output port implements. Choose the output that your monitor's best free input accepts, then check that the specific model's published ceiling covers the mode you actually run.

Why generation numbers are not a specification
The generation label is marketing, and the people selling it apply it inconsistently. One official Dichen listing sells a DisplayPort model under three labels at once: the URL says fourth generation, the page title says sixth, and the model string is different again. GODLIKE listings use numbers like 8.5 Gen alongside named variants such as mini, touch and boxed, which do not map onto the numbers in any stable way. Two resellers will call the same board different generations, and one reseller will call different boards the same generation. So buy by the model string: ask which exact model you are receiving and which resolution-and-refresh pair it carries, and keep the answer.
What to check before buying for 240 Hz or more
High refresh is where fuser purchases go wrong, and the number that matters is the box's, not the panel's.

- The resolution and refresh rate you run today, not the panel maximum with overclock enabled
- The box's ceiling AT that resolution
- A box that carries 240 Hz at 1080p will not carry 240 Hz at 1440p. The pair is the specification; a single number is not
- Output interface match
- DisplayPort output into a DisplayPort input. Every adapter in this chain is a new failure surface
- EDID behaviour
- Whether the model passes your monitor's EDID through, and whether it can be given one if it does not
- Cables
- Use the bundled cables for the first successful test. A marginal HDMI cable at high refresh produces exactly the dropouts people blame on the box

Why a fuser can cap your refresh rate without warning
The fuser presents an EDID to the game PC, and the game PC picks a mode from it. If the box tops out at 144 Hz and your monitor runs 240 Hz, you get no error, only 144 Hz and a vague sense that something is off. This is the most common disappointment in the category, and comparing two numbers before ordering avoids it.

What fuser listings claim about safety
Listings in this market describe fusers as making an overlay invisible to screenshots or streaming software, and some use the word undetectable. The mechanical part is real but narrow: a fuser composites after the game PC's frame buffer, so the game PC's own capture path has nothing extra in it. That is a fact about where pixels are mixed, not protection. It changes nothing about the PCIe device, the input device's USB descriptor, the firmware's claimed identity, or your behaviour in a match. A fuser is a comfort purchase, and a listing that sells it as a safety purchase will be wrong about other things too.
What to confirm before you pay for a fuser
- You have the exact model string, not just a family name and a generation number
- The seller has confirmed the resolution-and-refresh pair you run, in writing
- The output interface matches a free input on your monitor with no adapter
- The second PC has an HDMI output, or you have ordered the right adapter for it
- Cables are included, or you have bought cables rated for the mode
- You know the box needs mains power and have a socket where it will sit
Common questions about buying a fuser
Is a DisplayPort fuser better than an HDMI one?
Only in the sense that DisplayPort's higher link rate allows higher modes. If you run 1080p at 240 Hz, an HDMI-output model that publishes that mode is equivalent and often cheaper.
Does the second PC's output have to match the monitor?
No. The second PC feeds an HDMI input and supplies only the overlay layer. Its output has to stay within what the box accepts, but it does not need to match the game PC's leg.
Are Dichen and GODLIKE the same hardware with different badges?
They are separate product families with separate model lines, although in practice their mainstream models sit in the same specification band. The choice comes down to price, enclosure, port layout and which seller you trust.
What does a newer generation actually get me?
Sometimes a higher ceiling, sometimes better cooling or an EDID mode, and sometimes nothing but a label. Compare the published mode tables of the two specific models in front of you, because that comparison is real and the generation gap is not.
Can I resell a fuser later?
These boxes hold their value reasonably well because they are generic video hardware with no bound licence. If you plan to resell, keep the box, the power supply and the bundled cables.
